Welcome to the Division of Rheumatology
Uner the direction of Jorg Goronzy, M.D, Ph.D., the Division of Rheumatology at Emory operates under the larger umbrella of the Kathleen B. and Mason I. Lowance Center for Rheumatology and Human Immunology.
The Division is comprised of seven full-time and one part-time faculty who serve the clinical needs of the Grady Health System, the Veterans Administration Hospital, The Emory Clinic, and Emory University Hospital, Emory Midtown and The Emory Children's Center.
Emory has a two-year rheumatology subspecialty training program, entering three subspecialty residents one year and three in the alternate year for a total of six residents in a given two-year period. In addition, one of the second year subspecialty residents is offered a third year research fellowship.
Rheumatololgy at Emory is dedicated to excellence in the clinical care of patients and the education of medical students, medicine residents, and rheumatology subspecialty residents. The Division is also committed to involvement in clinical research and playing an active role in the development of increased knowledge and new treatment regimens in the field of rheumatic diseases.
