Biography

Dr. Robalino is from Guayaquil, Ecuador. He obtained his medical degree from the Universidad Catolica de Santiago de Guayaquil, and completed one year of internal medicine residency at Universidad de Guayaquil Hospital Regional "Dr. Teodoro Maldonado Carbo" in 2003. In 2004, he came to the United States as a postdoctoral research fellow with the Emory University Division of Endocrinology.

Dr. Robalino has three years of experience working in the diabetes field, and has actively participated in community health promotion programs such as "Dialogo Latino." His main area of interest is the role of free fatty acids as one of the main etiologic factors that cause high blood pressure and endothelial dysfunction in diabetics and non-diabetics. He is also interested in ketosis-prone diabetes mellitus.
