Sheba Asghar, MD
Instructor of Medicine
Division of General Medicine, Hospital Medicine Unit
Dr. Asghar received her medical degree from Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan. Her post graduate medical training includes an Internal Medicine Residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Asghar is board certified in Internal Medicine and provides Hospitalist services at Wesley Woods Hospital.

Nagalakshmi Munukuti, MD
Instructor of Medicine
Division of General Medicine, Hospital Medicine Unit
Dr. Munukuti received her medical degree from Andhra Medical College in Visakhapatnam, India. Her post graduate medical training includes an Internal Medicine Residency at University of Kentucky in Lexington, Kentucky. Dr. Munukuti is board certified in Internal Medicine. Dr. Munukuti provides Hospitalist services at Cartersville Medical Center.
Dustin Smith, M.D.,
Instructor of Medicine
Division of General Medicine
Dr. Smith received his medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine. His post graduate training includes a residency in Internal Medicine at University of California, San Francisco. He is based at the VA and is serving as a hospitalist on the new team of eight hospitalists and will teach and supervise residents during their rotations on the inpatient wards.
Scott Steinbach, M.D

Dr. Steinbach received his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. His post graduate training includes a residency in Internal Medicine at Emory. Dr. Steinbach is board certified in Internal Medicine. He is based at the VA and is supervising a new team of eight hospitalists as Administrative Chief.
Jay Varkey, MD
Assistant Professor of Medicine
Division of Infectious Diseases
Dr. Varkey received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI. His post graduate medical training includes an Internal Medicine Residency at Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Varkey also received his MPH from UNC School of Public Health. He is board certified in Internal Medicine. His primary clinical and research responsibilities are at EUH, serving as the Director of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and Assistant Hospital Epidemiologist.
