Mentoring Celebration 
A Mentoring Program Reception was held in the School of Medicine lobby on March 24th to re-launch the departmental program and thank the program participants. Dr. R. Wayne Alexander, President James Wagner, and Associate Executive Dean Claudia Adkison spoke about the importance of mentoring and the available mentoring resources through the university. Drs. David Guidot and Loida Bonney spoke about the positive effects of strong mentoring relationships.
Each attendee received a "pear" pin as a thank you for accomplishments achieved in mentoring their "pair" and to serve as a reminder of the program.

We are pleased to announce exciting new changes to our Department of Medicine mentoring program. As you are undoubtedly aware, the provision of good mentoring is essential to faculty career success and satisfaction. A need for improved mentoring was highlighted by both the recent Faculty Satisfaction Survey as well the FAME taskforce. In response to this need, we are modifying our departmental mentoring program, according to the recommendations of the Faculty Development Committee and Mentoring Subcommittee. (continue)
