Jörg J. Goronzy
Dr. Goronzy is the Mason I. Lowance, M.D.,
Professor of Medicine and Co-Director of the
Lowance Center in the Depart ment of Medicine
at the Emory University School of Medicine.
Before coming to Emory in 2004, he was a Professor
of Medicine and Immunology at the Mayo Medical
and Graduate School in Rochester, MN. Dr. Goronzy
received his M.D. from Aachen Medical School,
a Dr. med from the University of Bonn, and
a Dr. med. habil. from Heidelberg University
in Germany. He did his internal medicine residency
at the Hannover Medical School, postdoctoral
training in immunology at the German Cancer
Research Center, and a rheumatology fellowship
at Stanford University Medical School. Among
his awards are the Henry Kunkel Young Investigator
Award from the A merican College of Rheumatology
and the Depart ment of Medicine Outstanding
Investigator Award from the Mayo Foundation.
He is an elected member of both the A merican
Association of Physicians and the A merican
Society for Clinical Investigation.
